Hi everyone, Jan here to show you how I created the “Boo” die cut image for this Halloween card, which features the “All Hallow’s Eve” collection.  This technique is one of my favorites, and it’s so easy to do.

Directions:

First, I cut out two “Boo” words one from chipboard and the other from patterned paper.  Glue the two pieces together.  Next, ink the edges.  On this intricate shape, I also used a black felt pen on the edges.  Using Glossy Accents, cover your entire die cut shape, generously.  Immediately cover the entire surface with clear micro beads.  I fold up the edges of a piece of paper to make a tray and pour it over the shape, then lightly shake off the excess.  Set aside to dry.  To make it look a little more vintage, I add a bit of Latte colored alcohol ink on a piece of felt and lightly brush on the edges or certain areas of the micro beads.  It’s amazing how different the patterned paper looks when it’s covered with the micro beads!

I’ve shown also above, how it can change the look of this skeleton sticker too.

To complete my card, I adhered the die cut on a 4 ¾” x 4 ¾” piece of patterned paper; then matted it with glitter paper and paper punched around the edges with a “boo” border punch.  Glue this to your card base. I altered an “All Hallow’s Eve” chipboard shape with Rock Candy crackle paint, black Distress stain, and chocolate Mica Gloss. The “o’ hallows eve” sticker was inked and a bit of Frayed Burlap stain applied to the edges.  Add some black bling to the card, and you’re finished.

Isn’t this amazing? Try “glittering” up your die cut shapes and stickers with mirco beads or glitter. Then share your completed project with us on our Facebook page HERE! We can’t wait to see what you create.
